What Therapy Can Offer You...
Counselling and other forms of therapy can bring realisations and help you to understand patterns of behaviour and empower you to manage your issues and move forward. A therapist may reflect what you are saying and may challenge you where they feel it’s appropriate. They can support you when you are feeling depressed and anxious and feel there is little hope. Therapy can give you a space to talk about loss, and work through your grief in a supportive environment. It can give you the space and time you need to talk relationships through, problems at work, discussing career changes and help you come to a conclusion for what you really want to do with your life. You may be exploring your sexuality and need someone to go on that journey with. There may be trauma in your life that you need time to work through. You may have an eating disorders, body issues, and need a therapist to talk this through with.

The training resources and practical work was valuable and insightful. I enjoyed the self-guided process immensely and gained some important realisation around the process of moving from counselling to supervising practice. The level of feedback on my essay and practical work gave me good validation of what I am doing well and areas I need to develop. Thanks, Rachel, for your guidance and support. Much appreciated. I think I can move on more confidently to meeting the needs of my supervisees and my own self-development.

The 'Accredited Postgraduate Certificate in Supervision and Counselling' at Heaton Moor Counselling and Therapy Centre was fantastic. Rachel, my tutor, was incredibly kind, attentive, and supportive. Her feedback on the assessments was really insightful and helpful, it gave me a lot of food for thought. The quality of the reading materials was concise and accessible. I would highly recommend this course to any qualified counsellor looking to transition into a supervisory role in the future, with the confidence that Rachel will provide the best support.

Heaton Moor Counselling and Therapy Centre is also home to The Centre for Mental Health in the Music Industry. Rachel Jepson, a BACP Accredited Psychotherapist, founded Counselling for musicians in 2017 after noticing an inherent lack of mental health support for the music industry. She went on to write Mental Health In the Music Industry: A Guide and develop the first and only course in Mental Health Awareness In The Music Industry accredited by CPD. The course is taught from the centre and the centre offers therapy to all in the music industry.
